Vegvisir Necklace — Guides the Way Through the Storm
"...if this sign is carried, one will never lose one's way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known." — Huld Manuscript
The Vegvisir, or Norse compass, is an Icelandic magical stave said to keep its bearer from losing their way in foul weather. The Vikings spoke of
hafvilla — being bewildered or lost at sea. We made this pendant to help guide you through modern moments of hafvilla.
- Solid bronze pendant, 12 grams
- 1.3" (3.3 cm) diameter
- Includes 30" leather cord
- Incuse, double-sided design (letters recessed so they stay dark with daily wear)
Encircling the stave is the runic transliteration of the Icelandic phrase "Eg stoppar ekki thegar threyttur, eg stoppar thegar eg er buinn" — "I do not stop when tired, I stop when done."
