The Viking sword "Helbítr" — "hell biter" in Old Norse — is a hand-forged replica drawn from 10th–11th century artifacts, with a blunt double-edged blade, an ornate brass hilt and a leather-wrapped wooden scabbard.
Construction: the blunt EN45 spring-steel blade is heat-treated to 56–58 HRC and runs nearly the full length of the handle, transitioning into a threaded rod at the pommel for secure assembly with the cast grip and pommel nut. Built for display or light training — no toy, but not intended for full-contact sparring.
Scabbard & belt: genuine calfskin-wrapped wooden scabbard with an adjustable top-grain leather waist belt, so you can position the sword for a quick draw.

I love the sword feels like the real thing
I made some modifications, extended the handle and added a knife to it. I haven't practiced any drills with it, but the tang looks full and I literally carry this with me everywhere. (Currently training with a 3' piece of rebar with three 1' pieces at the tip) the leather is well done, it has survived my abuse of tying and re-tying the belt around the sheath, plus the shoulder strap and the metal tip piece.
The overall look and feel is great however I had to reach out to customer service in regards to a technical aspect thay effected functionality of the weapon. They were quick to assess the problem and shipped out a replacement. I am currently awaiting the replacement.
Your website states it has a wooden handle wrapped with leather, that is however falsified and mis-advertisement. I purchased the HelBitr sword and took it apart, the handle is not wood, it is heavy alluminum, the handle wrap was not leather, it was faux leather, the scabbard was an very dinngy brown, the pommel is connected to a threaded badly welded rat tail... your company should be more honest about the products you promote.

Handsome and seemingly accurate rendering of a viking age sword. It's got some heft, with the more of its weight in the latter half of blade. I guess that is good for the downward strikes, but it disadvantages the upward swings and straight thrusts. Perhaps this is what some Vikings may have preferred. Well made and rugged with a fine, semi-sharp blade.

The sword is nice.
The metal blade is solid and came with a museum edge. Meaning with a little coaxing it could be made to be sharp. I have not tested it for hardness yet. The blade is a reproduction of what a middle rank/class “Viking” would probably carry but not of a higher status “Viking” considering what I paid for it that is OK. The hilt and pommel seem secure but I see no evidence of mechanical attachment. I think that they might just be epoxied on the fit of the hilt is sloppy and has wide gap all around the sword. The handle has a decent tight leather wrap that feels good in my hand. The sword has a nice balance to it The sheath is of good quality and has a nice athletic look to it. Overall this would be a good sword for reenactment or theatrical use though I would dull the edge more for those uses. Like I said the blade is nice and after testing if it proves to be hardened I will replace the hardware with higher quality materials and fit maybe etch the blade too.
But for the amount of what I paid for the sword I’m happy with my purchase.

I am very happy with the sword—a 62nd birthday present. Yes, I’m still plundering at this age! It is heavy and stout and nicely crafted. There are some very minor scratches on the blade itself. However, I want it to look real & authentic—not like a sword that was just manufactured. So some insignificant “imperfections” are fine with me. I like the scabbard and belt, however as some have mentioned, the sword is loose in the scabbard—wish it were a snugger fit. I will figure out some way to achieve that. I looked at a lot of swords online, including significantly more expensive ones, and this one is a winner. Very happy to wield it!
This is the third replica weapon and second sword, inspired by 10th and 11th century Viking artifacts, that I have purchased through Norse Tradesman. I am pleased with the look and feel of these display replicas; they are well-made and “as promised” in the website descriptions. The “semi-sharp” blades arrived in excellent condition, protected by oil from rust during shipping. The wood and leather parts also arrived well protected from shipping damage and in excellent condition; the swords look as though a Viking berserker could grab them and head out to pillage coastal villages! I will not hesitate to purchase more items from Norse Tradesman in the future. Highly recommend these replicas for the use intended.

The sword held up to the torture test. However the description is slightly decieving. The handle is solid metal, there is zero wood involved. The pommel is not hot pressed into the full tang. It has a method with nut and washer. This comes loose during normal use. I needed metal set to get everything to stay in place. The scabbard is made well but slightly loose. Then length of the sword and scabbard are off. Im 6'1 with long arms and still cant pull the sword completely out when worn on my back. This was tried with all belt adjustments. This sword is made to be worn on a belt. Overall good quality, but shows signs of a mass produced prop.

This sword looks amazing and to me it's very well built. The price is good too.
It is a bit on the heavy side and unbalanced. The balance goes towards the tip making it a bit hard to wield with one hand. The handle is a bit on the large size. Other than those issues it looks great and period correct. Though the edge is dull (I’m guessing for insurance reasons) it still has the profile look and can be sharpened by an expert
Looks and feels like it might be as good a cranium divider now as it’s predecessors were then.
