I got the 32oz mug/stein, it's okay in it's base form. You aren't going to turn heads with it, the plank "detailing" is crooked on both mine and my wife's and the jute twine wrap was very loose. Over all there's nothing that really "pops" about the base form of the mug, it's an overall tan color that the seller's photos make look better than it is. All that being said: if you remove the jute twine, and take a hot soldering iron to all the grooves, and give it some nice dark burn lines, this mug turns into something special. I even printed a few patterns out, taped them to the mug and burned them into the side of the mug. The overall blandness lends itself well to the art you can put on it, and frankly, bumps my review up by two stars.

Been using the mug everyday since I got it. It came in with a very oaky smell to it that after some soap and water took care of it and I haven't used another cup since. Holds a lot, nice grip, looks great. All and all worthwhile purchase.
