Built for use: fully functional as a tool or reenactment piece with a utility-sharp edge — no toy, though not a log-splitting maul. The handle is a single piece of aged teakwood, one of the hardest, most durable timbers available, finished with a thick harness-leather cross-stitch and grip.

I've made a prior review and it was true but after having on the wall for a few weeks of not needing to use it, it's cut through a few not very thick branches it snapped about 6 inches from the head of the axe and I'm mildly disappointed in how much use I put it though.
I love and use my axe often but the sheath strap isn't as tight as I'd prefer as i walk and work a few inches of blade slides out and it might just be my axe but the blade seems to chip kind of easily, but overall I really enjoy my axe.
This axe is great for both carry and display on the wall. The hardware to display the axe is included, as is the sheath. Workmanship is excellent and I don't see how it could be any better.
The axe was beautiful except a small chip in the back side of the handle. The only flaw in it.

Not bad for decoration. Definitely not a real combat ready axe. The leather wraps are not practical however for grip as the wrapping is at the very bottom of the shaft (not where you would hold it). The axe blade is held w 1 small pin. First real swing at anything and this thing is coming apart. For the price, not a good purchase.
Hi Redekin, we appreciate your feedback! Just to clarify though, the axe head isn't held on with that pin. We use a wooden wedge and kerf system to secure the axe head. The pin is really just added security, although we've determined it's unecessary and we have decided to skip the pin on our next batch.
Chopped some wood and did some throwing with it and nothing came loose. It's my go too axe for Renaissance fairs, yard work etc.
Comes sharp as they said! Chops very well, used it to slice some meat & knock out some trees in my cabin's forest. I love this axe so much I want 2 of them... Buuuuttt my wife said "no, that would be ridiculous."

Since I’m and exchange student from Denmark I wanted to give my host dad something cool from my culture for Christmas. He has a room in his basement with sword and he does warhammer and such. Now he’s carrying it with him all around the house.

Really good axe if you end up actually using to cut like wood and stuff then the leather strapping with come off which to me was no problem but the handle did take a little bit of damage from using it I think a harder wooded handle would just make this product top tier.

Sad to learn the axe was made in India and not in an American shop who makes Norse products.
Satisfied with my purchase, but too much for a foreign made axe, Scandinavian and India don't mix.
I learned a lesson to ask questions before I buy.

Is the blade en45spring steel or 1095 carbon steel? The description says both. High carbon must be babied.
