12th Century British Isles Sword

⚔️ VIKING SPIRIT - This sword is named Keurnbut "The Millstone-Breaker". The original design draws inspiration from 12th century Oakeshott type XI blades found in the British Isles. Note that the "fuller" runs the length of the blade, in the traditional style of the early Viking Age. This hand-forged sword features a semi-sharp carbon-steel blade, an ornately designed hilt and a genuine leather wrapped wooden scabbard with sword belt.

⚔️ FULLY BATTLE-READY - Constructed of high carbon spring steel, this sword is build to last and designed to function. Each hand-forged Viking sword features a semi-sharp, double-edged EN-45 spring steel blade which has been given an excellent heat treatment to achieve a 54-58 Rockwell scale hardness. This sword is by no means a toy. The satin finished blade is full tang and hilt detailing is completed by a skilled plater.

⚔️ SWORD BELT SCABBARD - Each sword comes with a genuine cowhide wrapped sword belt and dark leather wrapped wooden scabbard that is designed to wear the sword at the hip. The belt is adjustable, and features an antique brass buckle. Each piece is made and assembled by hand. The scabbard is constructed from high quality, yet lightweight wood and wrapped in brown calfskin leather. Recognize the incredible quality with a simple touch or glance.

⚔️ STRONG, YET NIMBLE - This Viking weapon is crafted with the warrior in mind. The blade is forged with spring steel, which is prized for its flexibility and durability. The lightweight aluminum hilt allows for an overall weight of 2.35 lbs (1.07 kg), making it comparable to Viking weapons of the time. Find the balance point at a comfortable distance below the guard. The one-handed sword grip is carefully wrapped with brown leather cord, providing extra grip. Feel the natural balance of this weapon.

Excellent representative of the era…

This is a very well-crafted sword and scabbard combination and a faithful representative of the era. It was quickly shipped by the store and received within a week.

The pommel is tightly peened to the tang and surrounding handle. The handle wrapping very expertly accomplished. The cross guard tightly fitting between blade and handle. The nicely forged blade is gently taped to a strong point and incorporates an evenly applied fuller. It is not fully sharpened which makes it ideal for reenactment use.

The scabbard is covered with nice quality leather that fits tightly over the wooden inner core. It has a few cord decorations applied between the leather over wrap and wooden core. While the blade fits nicely within the scabbard, it does not provide a tight, friction fit. Overall, that’s not a big shortcoming.
