This 5-foot Viking broad axe draws on the Langeid axe from early-11th-century southern Norway, with an added Elder Futhark rune engraving flowing along the curve of the carbon-steel blade.
-
Head: hand-forged Petersen Type M axe head with a sharp edge, heat-treated to 55–58 HRC and secured to the shaft with pins and heavy industrial wood glue.
-
Shaft: single-piece aged hardwood, 5' long, capped at the end with a pure copper sheet and secured with copper rivets.
-
Runes: unique Elder Futhark engravings on both sides of the blade, interpreted as "Victory Hall, to Honor" and "To Battle, to Glory."
-
Included: premium brown leather sheath to store and transport the axe safely.
Built for use: functional for light use, but not built for battle — do not use in combat or for heavy work the axe was not designed for.
